Studio Break is a podcast and blog site created by David Linneweh in the Fall of 2011 after a studio visit with artist John Reddington. It began simply as a way to continue the types of discussions artists have in studio about what their creating and how they are creating; to illuminate how visual artists maintain a studio practice. Guests are invited on the podcast and during the interview and discussion guests share discuss their upbringing, how they became an artist, what formal training they may have received, what their past and current bodies of work are about, all the research that takes place and everything in-between.
David earned his BFA in 2002 from Illinois State University and an MFA in 2007 from Southern Illinois University Carbondale with a focus in Painting. In the years following David completed a succession of artist residencies before returning to the Chicago where he currently paints, teaches, and interviews artists to share on Studio Break.
